The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The LWVCC is sponsoring a candidates' forum for the local Concord town election. There are four races on the local ballot--Select Board, Concord School Committee, Town Moderator, and Concord Housing Authority. The forum provides you with an opportunity to meet the candidates for these races.
These forums provide an opportunity for Concord citizens to ask questions of the candidates. Please send your questions to VoterService@lwvcc.org. All questions are screened by the League for appropriateness.
The Chairs of the Concord and Regional School Committee will be there to answer your questions on the school budgets and warrant articles.
Making democracy work includes being engaged at levels of government--local, state and national. The opportunity to participate and let your voice be heard at the local level is now. Local elections in Concord and Carlisle are on March 28 and May 16 respectively.
The Annual Town Meeting for Concord is April 24 to April 27 and will be held at the Concord-Carlisle Regional High School. The Carlisle Annual Town Meeting will be May 8.
Check the LWVCC calendar for dates of warrant article public hearings. Your town website also provides important information regarding Town Meeting.
